Uniondale, NY (October 2, 2020) – The New York Riptide today announced their six-session Riptide Training Academy Fall Clinics. For six weeks, Novice, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget aged players will have the opportunity to learn from current Riptide players and staff at Sportime Bethpage. The program will include box specific lacrosse instruction tailored to each age group and skill level throughout the sessions. The sessions will be held on November 7, 14, 21 and December 5, 12, 19 and are $300 per child.
This is the second event that the Riptide Training Academy has hosted. This summer, New York Riptide hosted the inaugural Riptide Training Academy Summer Camp.
“We’re excited to be able to continue this Fall on the success of our Riptide Training Academy Summer Camp,” said Courtney Bertolone, New York Riptide Manager of Grassroots. “These clinics will give children of all skill levels the opportunity to learn from some of the best lacrosse players in the world, and echoes in our mission to grow the game of lacrosse across the New York metropolitan area.”
Each participant will receive six weeks of instruction, exclusive Riptide Training Academy branded gear, an additional clinic on the turf at Nassau Coliseum at a Riptide home game with Riptide players, ticket vouchers to Riptide games and other exclusive player events with the players and coaches throughout the 2020-21 National Lacrosse League season. These clinics will also allow participants with the intentions to try out for the Jr. Riptide, the New York Riptide’s travel box lacrosse teams that compete in the annual Jr. National Lacrosse League Tournament in Ontario, Canada, the opportunity to develop and showcase their skills in front of current Riptide players and staff.
“After partnering this summer with the Riptide to launch the Riptide Training Academy, we are proud that the organization has prioritized growing lacrosse on Long Island,” said Brian Langtry, Riptide Training Academy Partner. “We are excited to be using this as a mix of training, stations, open floor play and evaluations for building our Jr. Riptide teams.”
In addition, the Riptide Training Academy has launched RiptideTrainingAcademy.com, a website for players, coaches and parents to be able to register for and learn more about camps, clinics and other Riptide Training Academy events.
“We believe that these fall clinics will build on the momentum that we gained over the summer with our summer camp,” said Tony D’Elia, Riptide Training Academy Partner. “We are really looking forward to expanding to a new pool of players in an effort to expose them to the game of lacrosse.”
